Forrest AKA “4-Rest” AKA “Liquifuzz” brings a fat dose of funk to his unique brand of music, creating a psychedelic flavor that rocks a bold and experimental approach to electronica. Long involved in the musical realm, this producer, sound engineer and beat designer plays many instruments and possesses numerous skills; however his true passion is the guitar, and this love infuses every musical endeavor he attempts from hip hop to electronica and beyond.
From the age of four Forrest began learning guitar from his father, playing the popular artists of the time like KISS, Dylan, and Black Sabbath. The young enthusiast was soon exposed to the early break-dancing scene of Cleveland, and soon the funk had taken over his brain, leading Forrest to form his first band in New York. After a few years playing the bar circuit, the musician moved to Chicago where he joined forces with Justice Lawler, forming Sound Continuum Studios. The two began producing in earnest a variety of music including acid rock, house, electro funk, punk rock, drum and bass, sound design for theater groups and video game soundtracks.
Forrest’s productions have earned favorable reviews from URB magazine, The Chicago Sun Times, The Chicago Tribune, and Illinois Entertainer; today the young artist has shared the stage with a wide variety of performers including Woody McBride, Rancid, sum 41, Vibesquad, jimmy Eat World, Blackalicious and many more. His current sound is a rich mélange of future funk and trippy psychedelica and Forrest can be found collaborating with many unique artists and playing live electronic sets up and down the West Coast, always with a guitar in his hands and the FUNK in his head.
